The hard ways have treated me pretty well overall I started betting them when one boxman told me that they rate those higher due to the higher house edge (I have seen that to be true more often than not). I've settled into a series of strategies where usually, after the come out roll, I end up with somewhere around $50 on the table, including the pass line, odds, 6/8 place bet, and hard ways ($1 each my sucker bets of choice). If things are going well I may add the 5/9, or occasionally the 4/10. If I'm on a lower minimum table I tend to favor more odds at first instead of betting more numbers, or if say the point is six so I only need to bet the 8. When the Point is rolled, the dealer will add together the payment of the Come Bet and it's Odds and pay you the total. Otherwise known as 6:5 which is read '6 to 5' or you can think of it as you win '6 for every 5'. Every 5 you bet as Odds for a Come Bet on the 6 or 8 gets paid 6. ![]() I start with 6/8 and establish other numbers if the shooter's on fire. Odds on the 6 or 8 must be bet in increments of 5. ![]() The highest I ever got was to $210 on a 6 or 8 (although I've accomplished that three times in the last 18 months). ![]() (For the other numbers, when I play them, I go $10, $15, $25, $35, $50 and $25 increments from there). I've been using a progressive strategy myself If I start at $12 on the 6/8, I move to $18, $30, $42, $60, and then $30 increments from there with each additional hit.
